How are Lab Grown Diamonds Graded?

Lab grown diamonds are graded to the same clarity, color carat and cut specifications as mined diamonds and they can be accompanied by the same type of diamond grading reports written by leading independent gemological institutes such as GIA and IGI.

How does one know the difference between Lab Grown and natural diamonds?

A jeweler or gemologist cannot see the difference between the two with the naked eye, a loupe or even a microscope. Only through testing with expensive laboratory equipment can the difference be detected. Most if not all larger lab grown diamonds have a laser inscription on the girdle edge identifying them as lab grown

Lab grown retail for nearly for approximately  30% of  of natural diamonds.  For instance a 1.00 carat round natural diamond with an Excellent cut, Color G and Clarity VS2 would retail for about $8000.00. A lab grown diamond with the same specifications would retail for around  $1,000.00 or less
